The Tellicherry Fort is situated in Thalassery (formerly Tellicherry), a town in Kannur District of Kerala, India. The fort, built in 1708, stands as a testament to the colonial era with its massive walls, secret tunnels to the sea, and intricately carved doors. This historical edifice was constructed by the British East India Company to establish a stronghold on the Malabar Coast. The architecture showcases the prowess of the colonial powers and their military ambitions in the region. Overlooking the Arabian Sea, the fort spreads across a high cliff with robust structures that have stood the test of time. The fort exhibits a blend of European and traditional Kerala architectural styles, reflecting the cultural interactions of the period. It is a living piece of history that tells the stories of battles, trade, and the onset of colonial rule in South India. The complex also includes a lighthouse that guided marine navigation. Now, it provides visitors with insights into the colonial history of India and fascinates with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and seascape. It is a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India.

History haunts you
The place is an archeological ruin barely preserved by the state. The high structure and it's interiors with the ruins of a few armaments throw light into the past.
