The Kannur Lighthouse is a historical edifice located near the Payyambalam Beach, in Kannur, Kerala, India. Standing proud at a height of approximately 75 feet, it is an iconic landmark that offers panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and the surrounding landscape. Established in the year 1903, the Kannur Lighthouse was the first such establishment on the Malabar Coast. The tower is painted with white and red oblique bands, giving it a distinct and attractive appearance. The lighthouseâ€™s location on the headland is instrumental in guiding seafarers and marking the area's hazardous coastline. Visitors can climb to the top of the lighthouse to enjoy a spectacular vista of the coastline and the city. Adjacent to the lighthouse, there is a Lighthouse Museum which showcases the maritime history and the evolution of lighthouses. The well-kept grounds and lawns around the lighthouse offer a pleasant environment for relaxation and picnics.

Nice Place

The Kannur Lighthouse is a functional lighthouse overlooking the Arabian Sea. The campus has a museum and is well maintained. You can climb up the stairs and get a panoramic view from the top
