Pazhassi Dam is an earthen dam situated in the Kannur district of Kerala, India, on the Valapattanam river. Named after King Pazhassi Raja, a warrior who fought against the British, this dam is a part of the Indian Banasurasagar project which was started to support the Kakkayam Hydroelectric power project. It also includes an irrigation system to support neighboring agricultural areas. The dam area is known for its scenic beauty, surrounded by lush green hills with a calm reservoir area which also facilitates boating services. This picturesque location is a perfect picnic spot for families and nature enthusiasts. The dam is good. It has botanical gardens at there. Boat service is there. Small children park is there.
