Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is a serene protected area located in the Almora district of Uttarakhand, India. It is perched atop the Jhandi Dhar hills at an elevation ranging from 900 to 2500 meters. Spread across 45.59 square kilometers, it was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1988 and is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, including the endangered Himalayan bear, leopard, musk deer, and over 200 bird species, making it an ornithologist's paradise. With oak, rhododendron, and pine forests covering the sanctuary, it provides majestic views of the snow-clad peaks of the Himalayas, including Nanda Devi, Panchachuli, and Trisul. Inside the sanctuary is the Binsar Zero Point, providing an unrivaled panoramic view of the great Himalayan range. Binsar is also known for its culturally significant sites, such as the Bineshwar Mahadev Temple dedicated to Shiva. Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is conducive to eco-tourism and offers activities such as bird-watching, trekking, and wildlife photography.

Beautiful forest but spoilt by humans
The wildlife sanctuary is basically a small forest area where some birds can be spotted. Maybe the animals are there but I could not spot even a single deer or a fox. Such forests are there all around..

Brings you even closer to nature
This was great outing indeed. You can go the zero point and come back in about 3 hours. Would recommend for those looking for a hike.
