Chopta Tourism

Chopta is a picturesque hamlet which is still unexplored by travelers, and is also famous as 'Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand'. Nestled in the laps of the Himalayan ranges, it is located in the Rudraprayag District of Uttarakhand state in India. Situated at an elevation of approximately 2600 meters above sea level, Chopta is surrounded by dense forests and offers majestic views of the snow-clad Himalayan ranges. It serves as the base for trekking to the famous Tungnath Mandir, which is the highest Shiva temple in the world, and further to Chandrashila Peak. The region is part of the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary and is rich in flora and fauna, including rare species of birds and musk deer. Chopta's natural beauty is enhanced by its lush green meadows and pristine environment. It is an ideal spot for trekkers, nature lovers, bird watchers, and solitude seekers.
