Hemkunt Sahib, also known as Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib Ji, is a prominent Sikh place of worship located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. This sacred pilgrimage site is situated at an altitude of around 4,632 meters above sea level and is surrounded by seven snow-capped peaks. The gurudwara is dedicated to the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who, according to Sikh tradition, meditated at this location in one of his previous lives. Hemkunt Sahib is accessible only by foot through a steep and challenging trek, which starts from the town of Gobindghat. The path takes pilgrims through numerous scenic vistas, including waterfalls, dense forests, and the river Lakshman Ganga. The trek to Hemkunt Sahib is usually undertaken during the summer months before the onset of winter when the area becomes inaccessible due to heavy snowfall. The gurudwara is closed in winter, and each year the opening dates are announced based on weather conditions. Visitors are captivated by the serene and spiritual atmosphere, as well as the natural beauty of the surrounding region.
A trek far better than the Valley of Flowers with breathtaking views. The Khichdi at the Langar after all the trekking is food for the soul. Worth every bit of effort.

Pilgrimage to Hemkunt Sahib
Its a very beautiful and serene place at an altitude of approx 14500 ft. The trip from Govind Ghat (till where the motorable road ends) can be done either by walk, horseback or a chopper till Ghangari..
I went to Hemkunt Sahib. Adorned with a beautiful scenic view, the holy place offers tranquillity away from the din of the city and into the lap of nature. It is great place to go.
