Best Time To Visit Cheeyappara Waterfalls (Munnar) In 2026 - 2027

The best time to visit Cheeyappara Waterfalls in Munnar, Kerala, India is typically during the monsoon season, which occurs from June to September. During these months, the waterfall is in its full glory, cascading down with the added volume of water from the incessant rains. The lush greenery of the surrounding rainforests is also at its most vibrant during the monsoon, providing a magnificent backdrop to the falls. However, visitors should be cautious as the rains can sometimes make the area slippery, and the water flow can be quite strong and dangerous. Those who prefer a safer visit might choose to come towards the end of the monsoon period, when the rainfall is not as heavy but the waterfalls are still impressive.

For visitors seeking to avoid the rains and enjoy pleasant weather conditions, the months just after the monsoon season, which are October and November, offer a great opportunity. The waterfalls still retain much of their grandeur, and the scenery is lush and fresh after the rains. The cooler temperatures from December to February provide a comfortable climate for exploring the area, although the water flow may not be as intense as it is during the monsoon. To capture the beauty of Cheeyappara Waterfalls against the backdrop of the exotic flora and fauna of Munnar, consider planning your visit during these months for a balance between impressive water flow and agreeable weather conditions.
