The Connemara Public Library, located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, is a repository of centuries-old publications and serves as a depository library for the UN. This historical library was established in 1896 and forms part of a cultural complex that includes a museum and a theater, playing a crucial role in the literary and cultural landscape of Chennai. The library's architecture is a classic example of Gothic design, combined with elements of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture, reflective of the colonial era. It houses a rich collection including braille manuscripts, a vast section devoted to Tamil literature, and rare books that date back over 500 years. One of the library's salient features is its 'rare books' section, open to research scholars for reference purposes. Additionally, the library is upgraded with state-of-the-art facilities for conservation of its antique collections.
