Valluvar Kottam is a cultural monument in Chennai, dedicated to the classical Tamil poet-philosopher Valluvar. Designed by South Indian architect V. Ganapati Sthapati, it was inaugurated in April 1976. The structure resembles a temple chariot and houses a life-size statue of Thiruvalluvar. The monument encompasses an auditorium, which was once the biggest in Asia with a capacity to seat 4000 people. Valluvar Kottam holds a deep cultural significance as it is based on the design of the temple chariot in Thiruvarur. This architectural grandeur is a tribute to the immortal poet and his classic work, 'Thirukkural', a treatise on virtue, wealth, and love. The entire complex is adorned with inscriptions of Thirukkural's 1330 couplets, endearing it to Tamil scholars and language aficionados. Furthermore, the facility's intricate craftsmanship and the peaceful ambience make it a notable landmark and a center for the celebration of Tamil culture.

Lacks maintenance
Located in the prime location. But the place requires a lot of maintenance. Garden is quiet ok. Generally not crowded in weekends.
