Diu Museum Tourism

The Diu Museum, also known as the Diu Fort Museum, is located within the historic Diu Fort in Diu, a Union Territory of India off the southern coast of Gujarat. The museum is a significant cultural and historical destination housed in the St. Thomas Church or St. Thomas Chapel. The church, dating back to 1598, was converted into a museum to preserve various artifacts. The museum displays a collection of catholic statues, stone inscriptions from bygone eras, antique wooden carvings, and idols. The preservation of the building's Gothic-style architecture adds to the charm and reflects the Portuguese colonial heritage as Diu was a Portuguese colony until 1961.
