The INS Khukri Memorial is nested in Diu, which was once a Portuguese colony and is now a Union Territory, off the southern coast of Gujarat, India. This solemn memorial is dedicated to the Indian Navy frigate INS Khukri and its brave crew who lost their lives during the Indo-Pak War in 1971. The ship was sunk by a Pakistani submarine, and this memorial stands as a homage to the courage and sacrifice of the 18 officers and 176 sailors on board. The memorial houses a scale model of INS Khukri encased in a glass chamber and is surrounded by a well-maintained garden offering a serene environment. EXCELLENT MEMORIAL

During 1971 war, INS Khukri, was attacked near diu and Captain Mulla chose to go down with the Ship though he could have saved himself. Many Sailors and officers died.( names are mentioned their ) ..
