Dwarkamai is one of the pivotal places of worship in Shirdi, Maharashtra, India, where the great saint Sai Baba spent a significant part of his life including his last moments. It is uniquely significant as it is the mosque where Sai Baba, a spiritual leader revered by both Hindu and Muslim devotees, preached the unity of all religions and the message of universal brotherhood. Dwarkamai is a simple and unpretentious structure which houses a portrait of the saint, along with his belongings such as the grinding stone, the stone on which he used to sit, and the woodpile Sai Baba would use to light dhuni (sacred fire) to keep warm during cold nights. The mosque has been converted into a shrine where devotees throng to seek blessings. It is said that Sai Baba performed numerous miracles here, and visiting Dwarkamai is a profoundly humbling and peaceful experience for many believers.
