Best Time To Visit Elephant Arrival Spot (Munnar) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Elephant Arrival Spot, Munnar

Munnar, known for its lush green landscapes and tea plantations, is a haven for nature lovers. The Elephant Arrival Spot is one of the most enthralling attractions where visitors can observe these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. The best time to visit this sanctuary of elephants is between the months of September and May. During this period, the weather in Munnar is pleasant, with minimal rainfall, making it ideal for wildlife spotting and other outdoor activities. The monsoon season, which typically starts in June and lasts until August, is less favorable due to heavy rains, which may lead to slippery conditions and can restrict movement and viewing opportunities.

Moreover, the post-monsoon period, especially the months of September and October, provides an opportunity to see the verdant landscape at its best, with waterfalls and streams brimming with fresh water. Wildlife, including elephants, is more visible as they often come out to watering holes which are easily accessible. Tourists are advised to plan their visit either early in the morning or late in the afternoon for the best possible experience. These times are known to be the most active periods for elephants, and also offer soft, golden lighting which is perfect for photography.
