Golf Course Shillong Tourism

The Shillong Golf Course, located in the charming city of Shillong in the state of Meghalaya, India, is one of the oldest golf courses in the world. Established in 1898 by British civil service officers, it started as a nine-hole course and was later expanded to an 18-hole course by Captain Jackson in 1924. Nestled among pine groves and rhododendron trees, this natural green course is often compared to the 'Glen Eagle Course' in the United States. Its unique location at an altitude of around 5,200 feet above sea level makes it one of the few high-altitude golf courses in Asia.
