Best Time To Visit Guwahati Planetarium (Guwahati) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Guwahati Planetarium

The Guwahati Planetarium, located in the northeastern Indian state of Assam, is a popular destination for astronomy enthusiasts and tourists alike. The best time to visit Guwahati Planetarium is during the post-monsoon and winter months, which span from October to April. During these months, the weather in Guwahati is pleasant, with minimal rainfall, allowing for comfortable travel and uninterrupted sky-gazing sessions. Furthermore, the clear skies during winter enhance the experience of astronomical observations. The planetarium organizes various shows and programs in multiple languages, which can be enjoyed to the fullest during these cooler, drier months.

Visitors should avoid the monsoon season, which lasts from May to September, as Guwahati experiences heavy rainfall that can lead to disruptions in travel plans and might affect the planetarium's operations. Scheduling a visit on a day with less likelihood of overcast conditions would also be beneficial, as it would enable better visibility for any potential telescope viewings that are part of the planetarium's activities. In addition to checking the weather forecast for conducive stargazing conditions, it is important to note the planetarium's operating hours and any special astronomical events or exhibitions when planning your visit. For an enhanced experience, aim to visit during occasions such as solar or lunar eclipses, meteor showers, or when special celestial events are predicted, as the planetarium often holds additional viewings and informative sessions during such times.
