Iruppu Falls, located in the Coorg district of Karnataka, is a renowned waterfall attracting tourists for its scenic beauty and tranquil environment. Originating from the Brahmagiri Range, the falls are a part of the Rameshwara Temple's lore, being associated with the Ramayana, India's epic poem. It's said that Lord Rama and his brother Lakshmana passed by the Brahmagiri Range while searching for Sita. To quench Lakshmana's thirst, Rama shot an arrow into the Brahmagiri hills, thus creating the river Lakshmana Tirtha, which eventually cascades down to form the Iruppu Falls. This freshwater cascade is also a pilgrimage spot due to the famous Rameshwara Temple that lies on its banks. The forest trail leading to the waterfall is also rich in flora and fauna, making it a delight for nature lovers and trekkers. The falls are a refreshing sight with water gushing down from a height of about 60 feet into a large pool.

Chilled water falls
Silent place to visit. Chilled water from top hills. Kids can be enjoyed a lot. Enjoy a small trekking from entry point to top.

Visit after a monsoon
Visit only after the monsoon. Else there is not much water. It is a longish trek, and you may see a feeble "waterfall". The walk in the wooded area is nice.
