Best Time To Visit Kanchenjunga Falls (Pelling) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Kanchenjunga Falls in Pelling, Sikkim

Located in the enchanting town of Pelling in West Sikkim, Kanchenjunga Falls is a perennial waterfall that is fed by the glaciers of Mount Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world. The best time to visit this majestic cascade is during the months from September to June. During this period, the weather in Pelling is mostly pleasant with clear skies, allowing for spectacular views of the falls and the surrounding landscape. The monsoon season, which usually spans from July to August, is generally avoided by tourists due to heavy rainfall, which can lead to slippery paths and potential roadblocks. However, post-monsoon the waterfall is often at its most vigorous and beautiful state, making September an ideal month for those keen on seeing the waterfall at a high volume.

For travelers seeking to experience Kanchenjunga Falls amidst blooming flora and comfortable temperatures, visiting between October and May is highly recommended. During this time, the weather is cool and dry, providing an excellent opportunity for photography and nature walks. The winter months, from December to February, can be quite cold, but the falls remain accessible and the winter landscape often adds to the magic of the place with snowy peaks in the backdrop and fewer tourists around. Regardless of the time you choose, ensure that you have sufficient daylight hours to enjoy your visit, as the region gets dark relatively early, especially in the winter months.
