The city of Kanpur, located in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, experiences a typical north Indian climate with distinct summer, monsoon, and winter seasons. The ideal time to visit Kanpur is during the winter months, which extend from October to March. During this period, the weather is predominantly cool and pleasant, making it conducive for sightseeing and outdoor activities. The temperature ranges from a comfortable 7°C to about 20°C, with the coldest months being December and January. Tourists can enjoy the various parks, historical sites, and the beautiful banks of the Ganges without the discomfort of extreme temperatures.

Alternatively, the months of April to June mark the summer season in Kanpur and are characterized by scorching heat with temperatures soaring to a sizzling 40°C or higher. It is less advisable to visit during this time due to the intense heat which could hinder outdoor exploration. Following the summers, the monsoon season arrives in July and continues till September. While the city receives substantial rainfall which can cool down the temperatures, the increased humidity and potential waterlogging issues might be inconvenient for travelers. Hence, for a comfortable and enjoyable trip, planning your visit during the cooler winter months is highly recommended.
