The best time to visit Khecheopalri Lake is from September to May, when the weather conditions in Pelling are most favorable. During these months, you can expect clear skies, minimal rainfall, and moderate temperatures. The autumn months of September and October offer a resplendent view of the lake with a vibrant burst of fall colors and a refreshing climate, making it an ideal time for trekking and sightseeing. The winter season, spanning from November to February, is relatively cold, but you'll be rewarded with a tranquil atmosphere and the lake's beauty amidst the subtlety of winter hues.
Spring, from March to May, is another excellent period to plan your visit, as the area comes alive with blooming rhododendrons and other Himalayan flowers, and the weather remains pleasant before the onset of monsoon. Although the lake is accessible throughout the year, the monsoon season, from June to August, is less recommended due to heavy rainfall which can lead to slippery trails and obstructed views.
