Best Time to Visit Munnar

The idyllic hill station of Munnar in Kerala, India, is renowned for its verdant tea gardens, misty hills, and pristine beauty. The best time to visit Munnar is between September to March when the weather is pleasant, and temperatures range from 5°C to 25°C. This is an excellent period for sightseeing, tea estate visits, and enjoying the various attractions Munnar has to offer. The monsoon season ends by early September, making the landscape exceptionally beautiful with full flowing rivers and lush green hillsides. The post-monsoon period also brings in the season for the blooming of the rare 'Neelakurinji' flowers, which occurs once every twelve years.

For those who want to avoid the peak tourist season and enjoy a quieter holiday, the months of April and May represent the summer season in Munnar and can be a good time as well. Despite being summer, the temperatures during these months only slightly rise, making the weather warm but still comfortable. However, if you're an enthusiast of the winter chill, then visiting between December and February would be ideal. The winter season is marked by cool mist and the temperature can drop to near freezing at night, offering the chance to cozy up in the hill station's many quaint cottages and resorts. Whenever you decide to visit, Munnar's rolling hills and aromatic tea plantations consistently offer a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
