Panchakki, also known as the Water Mill, is a remarkable example of medieval Indian engineering located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. This 17th-century water mill is famed for its advanced hydraulic engineering, as it harnesses water sourced from the mountains through earthen pipes and uses it to power a large grinding stone. The mill was built by Malik Ambar, the regent of the Nizamshahi dynasty, and was designed to generate energy via the water brought down from a nearby spring. Panchakki also encompasses a mosque, a garden, and a tomb dedicated to a Sufi saint named Baba Shah Musafir. The serene surroundings, along with the historical significance, make it an important cultural landmark. The water mill structure displays ingenuity in its use of gravity and hydraulics for functional purposes, while also serving as a place of spiritual retreat. Inside the complex, visitors can see the workings of the mill and enjoy the peacefulness of the well-maintained garden, a rare escape in the modern urban setting of Aurangabad.

Don’t bother
Not very interesting, not well kept. The mill itself is hard to find and unimpressive even if old. The rest is a mosque. Not very interesting
