How To Reach Pantheon

Traveling to the Pantheon in Rome, Italy

The Pantheon, an architectural marvel and historical edifice situated in the heart of Rome, is accessible through various modes of transportation. Below you will find detailed information on how to get to this iconic destination:

By Air

Firstly, if you are arriving from abroad, you will most likely land at Rome's Fiumicino Airport (Leonardo da Vinci Airport) or the smaller Ciampino Airport. From Fiumicino Airport, you can take:

  • The Leonardo Express train to Termini Station, which runs every 30 minutes.
  • The regional FL1 train to Trastevere Station and then transfer to the number 8 tram heading to Argentina, which is a short walk to the Pantheon.
  • SIT, Terravision, or TAM buses heading to Termini Station.
  • A taxi or pre-booked car service directly to the Pantheon.

From Ciampino Airport, you can:

  • Take a bus to Termini Station such as the Terravision or the SitBus Shuttle and then follow the instructions below for reaching the Pantheon from Termini Station.
  • Alternatively, opt for a taxi or a pre-booked car service directly to your destination.

By Train

If you're already in Italy, train services regularly run to Rome's Termini Station, the main railway station.

From Termini Station

Upon reaching Termini Station, you have several options to get to the Pantheon:

  • Take bus route 64, 70, or 170 to the Largo di Torre Argentina stop and walk for a few minutes.
  • Alternatively, you can take the metro Line A to the Barberini stop and either walk from there or catch a bus.

By Metro

There is no direct metro stop at the Pantheon. The closest metro stations are:

  • Barberini on Line A, from where you can either walk for about 15 minutes or take a bus.
  • Spagna also on Line A, which is about a 20 minute walk away.

By Bus

Rome has an extensive bus network that can get you close to the Pantheon. Look for buses that stop at:

  • Largo di Torre Argentina, which is a central hub for numerous bus lines and is within walking distance to the Pantheon.
  • Piazza Venezia, another major nearby stop.

On Foot

Being in central Rome, the Pantheon is within walking distance from other famous landmarks like Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps. Walking in Rome is often the best way to appreciate the city's charm and discover hidden treasures along the way.

By Taxi or Ride-Sharing Services

Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available throughout Rome. This option might be more expensive but offers a direct route to the Pantheon without the need for transfers.

Reminder: The Pantheon is located in a traffic-restricted area (ZTL), which means that only authorized vehicles can enter. Keep in mind that private cars and non-resident drivers may have limited access, especially during certain hours, and rules can change often. Always check the latest traffic regulations if you plan to drive or use a taxi.
