Pokhara Shanti Stupa, also known as the World Peace Pagoda, is perched atop Anadu Hill in Pokhara, Nepal. It is a remarkable landmark established by Buddhist monks from the Japanese Nipponzan Myohoji organization. Incepted by Nichidatsu Fujii, a peace activist and Buddhist monk, the stupa aims to inspire peace worldwide. This stark white stupa offers panoramic views of the Pokhara Valley, Phewa Lake, and the Annapurna range, making it a popular site for both pilgrimages and sightseeing. The two-tiered platform houses four statues of Buddha, each representing important events related to Buddha that happened in four different places. The top of the dome-shaped structure provides a serene space for contemplation. Visitors may also enjoy the hike or drive up the hill through a tranquil forested path. Once at the summit, the picturesque setting is perfect for photography, relaxation, and soaking in the natural beauty and tranquility of the environment.
