Seti Gandaki, also known as the Seti River, is a unique river flowing through the heart of Pokhara, Nepal. It is renowned for its dazzlingly white water that appears milky from the limestone it carries from the Annapurna region. This river carves a deep gorge through the city, creating a spectacular natural sight that is often quite hidden until you are upon it. The gorge near the K.I. Singh bridge is a notable spot where the river can be observed in its dramatic form as it narrows through deep channels. The river is also famous for its underground passages, many of which are still unexplored. It provides a perfect setting for adventure activities like white-water rafting. Furthermore, the river has one of the most dramatic flood histories; during the monsoon season, water levels can rise significantly, a testament to its wild nature. The banks of the Seti River also serve as important sites for religious rituals among the local population. Despite its ferocity during the rainy season, the river remains an important resource for irrigation and hydroelectric power.
