Pushkar Lake is a sacred lake of the Hindus situated in Pushkar, Rajasthan, India. Surrounded by 52 bathing ghats and more than 500 temples, this lake is a significant pilgrimage spot for the devotees who believe that taking a dip here can cleanse sins and cure skin diseases. The town of Pushkar is often referred to as the 'Lotus city' or 'Rose garden of Rajasthan' due to the essence of spirituality and the presence of numerous rose gardens in the vicinity. Legend has it that the lake was created when Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe, dropped a lotus on the ground. Overlooking the lake is the prominent Brahma Temple, one of the few existing temples dedicated to the Hindu god Brahma, marking its religious significance. Pushkar Lake is also the venue for the annual Pushkar Fair, which is a fusion of livestock fair and cultural festivities attracting thousands of visitors and showcasing the rich traditions of Rajasthan.
