Sardar Sarovar Dam is one of the largest dams on the Narmada River located in the state of Gujarat, India. The project aimed at power generation, irrigation, and water supply. The foundation stone was laid by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1961, and it's part of the larger Narmada Valley Development Project. Its environs include lush greenery and an enhanced infrastructure supporting tourism. The site also includes the Statue of Unity, the world's tallest statue standing at 182 meters, dedicated to the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This colossal statue is a symbol of national unity and integrity. It features a viewing gallery at 153 meters, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. Around the dam and the statue, there are several facilities provided for visitors, such as a museum, audio-visual gallery, and a memorial garden.

Must visit place.
Good view from Sardar Sarovar lake view point no. 3. Suggested to visit during morning hours. Needs to walk for viewing point.

The lady at the dam explained very well about how the dam was made, height irrigational purpose, electricity generation etc. Amazing learning experience for the kids and self

good view
worth a view, u can view from far distnce, can not go near, due to ristrictions, best eary morning or evening after 4 pm, eally time pass
