Sarhi Gate Tourism

Sarhi Gate serves as one of the several entry points to the expanse of Kanha National Park, which is situated in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The park itself spans over an area of around 940 square kilometers and represents one of India's largest national parks. It is renowned for its efforts in saving the swamp deer, or 'barasingha', from near extinction, and it is also the park that inspired Rudyard Kipling's classic, 'The Jungle Book'. Kanha's landscape is characterized by vast grasslands, meandering rivers, and dense forests, creating a thriving ecosystem for a variety of wildlife species including a significant population of tigers, leopards, bears, and numerous species of deer and birds. Sarhi Gate allows access to the less frequented areas of the park, thus offering a more solitary experience compared to other zones. It is the northernmost entrance of the park, situated about 13 kilometers from Mandla. Tourists entering through Sarhi Gate can experience rustic forest landscapes, and often, peaceful animal sightings. The zone is also known for its good population of wild animals and has accommodations available nearby.
