Shiva Temple, also known as the Maharani Temple, is situated in Gulmarg, a pristine town in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. This historical temple, perched on a slight hill at the center of Gulmarg, offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding snow-capped mountains and meadows. The architecture is reflective of the old Kashmiri design with a touch of Victorian influence. One unique feature is that it is made entirely of stone. According to the history, the temple was built by Mohini Bai Sisodia, the wife of the erstwhile Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir, Hari Singh, in the early 20th century. It has immense religious significance and devotees come here to seek blessings. The ambiance around the temple is both serene and spiritual, making it an essential destination for pilgrims and tourists alike. Although the temple is not very large, its location and historical value make it one of the must-visit places in Gulmarg.
