Awesome experience thanks to a local guide
I started this walk on my own (was a solo female traveller) and as expected I was approached by some guides. Initially I was insistent I will do it alone but then there was this guide who was giving me tips how to go, what to cover without me asking but also not pressurising me to take him along as a guide. I realised it will greatly help me to have someoene guide me and I requested him for a quote. it was extremely reasonable and he came along. My walk was so much better and enriching because of him- we covered so many sights- golf course, maharaja palace, maharani mandir, church and a few others I forget. Most importantly we had great conversation, so many insights from him. He also clicks awesome 'reels' worthy of instagram posts for those interestsed! I believe he is one of the best guides I have ever come across and will not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable guide at a reasonable cost. Best scenery, highly recommend for any walkers!
Was in Gulmarg for 3 days so had time for this walk. It's super scenic, and a must for any walk lovers. The complete circle is about 7+kms, and recommend do this in the morning when the sky is clear and traffic is low. It's possible to cross across the meadow on some smaller paths but can be very muddy. I stayed on the road. It's very photo scenic, and also very safe. The locals are super friendly.

Walk around gulmarg
The outer circle walk provides almost a view of entire gulmarg. One can walk and visit, shiv temple. golf course, palace of maharaja Karan singh, and snow filled grounds were adventure sports activities are conducted. We could feel the low lying clouds, it was a lovely experience. Recommended, if you are fit enough to walk.

Beautiful meadow
Gulmarg is the essence of Kashmir. Its a beautiful meadow surrounded by mountains. You can walk or drive around the meadow along the Outer Circle, and visit all the attractions.

Lovely pastures
Just start walking towards the erstwhile maharaja house and you'll find the walking trail. No need for a pony and guide. They will continuously follow and pester you. Better to visit in early summer and fall.
