Best Time To Visit Ta Prohm (Siem Reap) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Ta Prohm, Siem Reap, Cambodia

The iconic temple of Ta Prohm is located in the sprawling temple complex of Angkor in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Renowned for the giant trees and massive roots that intertwine with the ancient temple's ruins, Ta Prohm offers a glimpse into the past where nature and human craftsmanship blend into an eerie and photogenic tableau. The best time to visit Ta Prohm is typically during the cooler months of November to February. During this period, the weather is relatively dry and the temperatures are more comfortable for exploration. This season is ideal for tourists seeking to enjoy the temple ruins without the discomfort of the intense heat and humidity that characterizes other parts of the year.

However, it is worth noting that the period from November to February is also the peak tourist season in Siem Reap, which means that Ta Prohm will be busier with visitors. To avoid the crowds, consider visiting the temple early in the morning right when it opens or later towards the end of the day. The early hours provide an opportunity to catch the mystical beauty of the temple with the soft light of sunrise, which not only affords a cooler climate but also better photography conditions. Alternatively, the months of June to October, which constitute the wet season, see fewer tourists and can offer a different perspective of the temple with the lush, green surroundings, though visitors should prepare for the likelihood of rain and a more slippery landscape.
