Taragarh Fort, perched atop the Nagpahari Hill in the Aravalli Range, is a significant historical fortification in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. Built by the Chauhan dynasty in the 12th century, this fort is reputed for its grandiose architecture and the panoramic views it offers of the Ajmer city. Often called the 'Star Fort', it was renowned for its masonry that once included six gates and ornate battlements. The fort's three imposing gateways are known as Lakshmi Pol, Phuta Darwaza, and Gagudi ki Phatak. Most parts of the fort have fallen into ruins, yet it still stands majestic and strong, reflecting the vivid history of the Rajput era. Notable structures within the fort include the Miran Saheb ki Dargah, Rani Mahal, and a large reservoir which was the main source of water in the bygone days. The complex terrain and the fort's architecture exhibit a mix of military defense strategies and royal luxuries.
