Best Time To Visit Tirta Empul Temple (Bali) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Tirta Empul Temple, Bali, Indonesia

Tirta Empul Temple, located in Bali, Indonesia, is known for its sacred water and is a significant site for Hindu devotees. The ideal time to visit the temple is during the dry season, which spans from April to September. During this period, the weather is relatively dry with minimal rainfall, allowing for a more comfortable and accessible experience. The dry season is also the peak tourist season in Bali, thus it's important to plan your visit early in the day to avoid the crowds that gather, particularly from 9 am to 11 am when the temple is less crowded yet vibrant with spiritual activities.

If you want to immerse yourself fully in the cultural essence of Tirta Empul, consider visiting during a ceremonial event, such as Galungan, Kuningan, or during the temple's anniversary celebration which follows the 210-day Balinese Pawukon calendar. On such occasions, the temple buzzes with heightened spiritual activity, traditional rituals, and local devotees performing purification rites in the holy water pools. Despite the busyness, these festivals offer a unique and authentic glimpse into Balinese culture. However, do remember to dress respectfully in a sarong and sash when entering temple grounds, as is customary in Balinese temples.
