Tran Quoc Pagoda - Access Guide

Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest Buddhist temple in Hanoi, is located on a small peninsula on the East side of West Lake (Tây Hồ). Here’s how to reach this serene landmark:

By Public Transport

Buses: You can reach the area by several Hanoi bus services including numbers 50, 31, and 58 which stop at nearby stations such as 'Chua Tran Quoc' or 'Thuy Khue - Ho Tay.' Check the latest bus routes and schedules as services might change over time.

By Taxi or Ride-Hailing Apps

Taxis: Available throughout Hanoi, taxis can be hailed directly from the street or booked via your hotel. Ensure the meter is running to avoid overcharging.
Ride-Hailing: Apps like Grab are popular in Hanoi. You can book a ride directly to "Tran Quoc Pagoda" and track your journey and fare in real-time.

By Private Car or Motorbike

If you’re renting a car or motorbike, navigate to "Thanh Nien Street," which divides West Lake and Truc Bach Lake. There is a small parking area near the pagoda for visitors. Note that traffic in Hanoi can be chaotic, and parking spaces may be limited, especially on weekends and religious holidays.

On Foot or Bicycle

If staying in nearby areas such as the Old Quarter or around Hoan Kiem Lake, the pagoda is a pleasant walk or bike ride away. The scenic route around West Lake provides a nice glimpse into local life. Bicycles can be rented from many hostels and local vendors.
