Treta Ke Thakur Temple is a significant religious site located in Ayodhya, a city deeply entrenched in the spiritual heritage of India. Ayodhya is revered as the birthplace of Lord Rama, a major deity in Hindu mythology. The temple stands on the bank of the sacred Saryu River, and it is believed that the site commemorates the place where Rama performed an Ashwamedha Yajna. The temple houses idols of Lord Rama, along with Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman, all central figures in the Hindu epic Ramayana. The term 'Treta' refers to Treta Yuga, the second age in the Hindu time cycle, when it is said Lord Rama reigned. 'Ke Thakur' translates to 'The Lord', signifying Rama's divine presence. The current structure of the temple is said to be built over the original site by the King of Kullu about 300 years ago. The temple showcases a blend of ancient and modern architecture, with intricate carvings and beautiful paintings depicting scenes from the Ramayana.
