Varkala Lighthouse, situated in the coastal town of Varkala in Kerala, India, stands as a sentinel on the shores of the Arabian Sea, guiding vessels with its powerful beam. The red and white striped tower was established as a significant navigational aid. Located atop a cliff, it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding coastal landscape. Varkala, renowned for its natural scenic beauty, unique culture, and geological significance, attracts many visitors to its serene beaches, mineral springs, and the ancient Janardana Swami Temple. The lighthouse itself, while not typically open for public entry, acts as a historical landmark, recalling the seafaring and colonial past of Kerala with its roots dating back to the British era. The structure contributes to the picturesque charm of this coastal region, which has also gained popularity for its laid-back vibe and Ayurvedic treatments. not so nice staff, but the view is great
the staff was very rude because we had cameras with us even though we weren't using it. But the view is stunning. It's beautiful over there, see the water and be on top of all those palm trees
