Best Time to Visit Vazhachal Falls in Thrissur, Kerala

Vazhachal Falls is a scenic waterfall located in the Thrissur district of Kerala, India. The falls are situated on the west-flowing Chalakudy River near the Vazhachal Forest Division. The best time to visit Vazhachal Falls is during the monsoon season, which typically runs from June to September. During this period, the falls are in full flow, offering a spectacular sight, as the rainwater swells the river, making the cascades more voluminous and enthralling. The surrounding greenery is also at its lushest, which makes the overall scenery quite picturesque. However, visitors should also be cautious as the area can be slippery, and water levels can be unpredictable during the heavy rains.

For those who prefer a less intense experience or are more interested in leisurely activities such as picnics or nature walks in the surrounding forests, visiting during the post-monsoon months of October to February may be ideal. During this time, the rainfall is considerably less, and the weather is more pleasant and cooler, making it comfortable for tourists to enjoy the locale. The flow of the water remains steady, but not overpowering, creating a tranquil environment perfect for families and nature enthusiasts alike. Keep in mind that during the peak of summer, which is from March to May, the water flow may reduce significantly, which might not be as impressive to view.
