Agastyamuni Temple is a historical shrine located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India, named after the revered sage Agastya. This ancient temple holds cultural and religious significance as it is dedicated to Sage Agastya, who is one of the Saptarishis (Seven Great Sages) in Hindu mythology. The temple is perched on the banks of the Mandakini River, surrounded by lush greenery and the scenic beauty of the Garhwal Himalayas. It is an excellent example of hill architecture with intricate carvings and statues adorning its walls. According to the legends, Sage Agastya meditated at this spot for a year, pleased with which the God of the Vindhyas appeared before him and offered a boon. It is also popular among pilgrims since it falls on the route to Kedarnath, one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Hinduism – the Char Dham. Annually, during the Baisakhi celebrations, a fair is held near the temple premise which attracts a considerable number of visitors.
