Gaurikund Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Gauri, also known as Parvati. It is located in the state of Uttarakhand at Rudraprayag district, India. Gaurikund serves as the commencement point for the sacred pilgrimage to Kedarnath Temple, which is one of the four major sites in India's Chota Char Dham pilgrimage. Situated at an elevation of approximately 1982 meters above sea level, the temple is set against the backdrop of the majestic Himalayas and offers serene natural beauty. It is believed that Gaurikund is the place where Goddess Gauri conducted penance involving ascetic and yogic practices to win over Lord Shiva's affections. It is also here that Shiva finally admitted His love for her, and they were wedded at this spot. In addition to its spiritual significance, the temple area is known for its hot springs, which are a major attraction for pilgrims who believe in their medicinal properties. The journey to Gaurikund is both spiritual and adventurous, involving trekking through mountainous terrain with breathtaking views.
