Akal Takht stands proudly within the Harmandir Sahib complex, commonly known as the Golden Temple, in Amritsar, Punjab, India. Established by Guru Hargobind Sahib, the sixth Sikh Guru, in 1606, it holds immense significance for the Sikh community as the highest seat of earthly authority of the Khalsa. The name means 'Throne of the Timeless One' and signifies the temporal power and justice of Sikhism. The Akal Takht has been the center of Sikh religion's political affairs and is where significant decisions regarding the community's welfare and issues are made. Although it has faced destruction and subsequent reconstructions throughout history, notably during Operation Bluestar in 1984, it stands as a symbol of resilience and Sikh sovereignty. The building is a five-story structure, with stunning architecture that features unique Sikh design elements.

Primary seat of Sikh authority
Stunning Gurdwara, visited during peak time before Vaisakhi and it was very busy. There is plenty of signage around in punjabi and English.

Important Sikh Shrine
Akal Takhat is a very important sikh Temple where they still have the swords and shields of the sikh warriors and guru's stored.
