Best Time to Visit Alikatta in Pench National Park

The best time to visit Alikatta in Pench National Park, Madhya Pradesh is during the dry months from October to June, with the peak wildlife spotting period being from November to May. The park usually remains closed during the monsoon season from July to September due to heavy rainfall, making the terrain difficult to navigate. Visiting in the cooler months of November to February can be particularly enjoyable as the weather is pleasant with minimum temperatures ranging from 5°C to 20°C. During this time, greenery is still abundant, and the winter season brings an influx of migratory birds, adding to the park's rich biodiversity.

However, for the most avid wildlife enthusiasts, the period from March to June is ideal, although it is much warmer with temperatures rising up to 40°C. The diminishing water sources during this pre-monsoon season result in animals, including the elusive tigers, frequently visiting watering holes, improving the chances of sightings. It is essential to note that the heat can be quite intense, so visitors are advised to wear light, breathable clothing and carry adequate sun protection. Early morning and late afternoon safaris during these hotter months offer the best conditions to see the park’s diverse wildlife.
