Apsara Vihar (Fairy Pool) Tourism

Apsara Vihar, commonly known as Fairy Pool, is a naturally formed pool with a small waterfall located in Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh, India. Surrounded by lush greenery and the rugged terrain of the Satpura Range, this serene spot has become a favorite among tourists for picnicking and swimming. Although the pool is deep enough for a leisurely swim, it is considered relatively safe as the water is calm and not too profound near the edges. The area around Apsara Vihar is also popular for trekking and exploring the rich biodiversity of Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve. According to local folklore, the pool was named after the heavenly maidens (apsaras) who used to come down to the site for bathing.
