For nature enthusiasts keen on visiting Bamni Dadar in Kanha National Park, the most opportune time is during the winter months, from October to March. As this season ushers in a pleasant climate with temperatures ranging between 5°C to 30°C, it's perfect for wildlife spotting and enjoying the panoramic views of the sunset from the Bamni Dadar viewpoint. The skies are usually clear, offering spectacular vistas, while the temperate weather makes wildlife safaris comfortable and enjoyable. Large herds of animals like the majestic gaur, sambar, and chital can often be spotted in the meadows, and as the foliage is not too dense, chances of witnessing the elusive tiger are substantially high. Additionally, the winter season hosts migratory birds, making it a great period for birdwatching as well.
However, those who don't mind the heat and wish to avoid the crowds can consider visiting during the early summer months, from April to June. During this time, the weather in Kanha National Park becomes quite warm, with daytime temperatures climbing up to 40°C. While this may seem daunting, it presents an excellent opportunity for wildlife viewing since animals frequent waterholes to quench their thirst, increasing the probability of sightings. Bamni Dadar, also known as the sunset point, offers enchanting views of the sun dipping below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the forest. Note that the park remains closed during the monsoon season from July to September, and thus, visiting in summer is the last chance to explore before the annual closure.
