Besakih Temple, known as Bali’s 'Mother Temple,' is located on the slopes of Mount Agung, in the eastern part of Bali. Here’s how you can reach this sacred destination:

By Road

Travel by car, scooter, or with a local taxi or tour operator from your location in Bali. The temple is approximately 60 km from Denpasar and can take about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach by car due to the mountainous roads.

Public Transportation

Public transport options are limited, but you can take a minibus (bemo) to Klungkung and then a taxi to Besakih. It's less convenient but can be a unique local experience.

Tour Packages

Many travel agencies offer day trips to Besakih Temple from various parts of the island. This is a hassle-free option as it includes pick-up, drop-off, and often a guide to explain the temple’s history and significance.

Driving Directions

1. Start from Denpasar and head east towards Klungkung.

3. After Klungkung, follow the signs leading up to Besakih Temple through the village of Menanga.
