Boar Rock is positioned inside the Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, a UNESCO World Heritage Site near Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. This archaeological site exhibits the earliest traces of human life on the Indian subcontinent, and marks the beginning of the South Asian Stone Age. Boar Rock itself houses some of the most significant rock art and petroglyphs, depicting scenes from prehistoric times. The shelters consist of massive sandstone rocks with a reddish hue, surrounded by dense forests. This particular rock is famous for its rock painting of a boar, which demonstrates the early man's artistic expression and connection with nature. The area consists of more than 750 rock shelters spread over 10 kilometers, with over 500 of them bearing paintings. The natural rock formations have been shaped by wind and water over thousands of years, providing insights into prehistoric life, the beliefs, and rituals that prevailed during that time.
