Best Time To Visit Bull Temple (Dodda Basavana Gudi) (Bangalore (Bengaluru)) In 2026 - 2027

Optimal Season to Visit Bull Temple

When planning a trip to the renowned Bull Temple, also known as Dodda Basavana Gudi, in Bangalore, Karnataka, the period from October to March stands out as the most favorable time. The weather during these months is typically pleasant with cooler temperatures ranging between 15°C and 30°C. This mild climate allows for a more comfortable visit to the temple, ensuring that tourists can enjoy the serene ambiance without having to cope with the intense heat common in tropical India. In addition to comfortable weather, this timeframe avoids the heavy monsoon rains that can occur from June to September, which may otherwise disrupt outdoor activities and temple visits.

Moreover, those interested in experiencing local culture and vibrant festivities should consider visiting during the Kadalekai Parishe or the Groundnut Fair, which usually takes place in late November. The event is dedicated to the sacred bull, Nandi, to whom the temple is devoted. Thousands of devotees throng the temple during the fair to offer prayers and groundnuts to the deity, making it a unique cultural spectacle to witness. Tourists can immerse themselves in the local traditions and relish a myriad of cultural activities that are only available during this special time of the year.
