Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, is a historical edifice that stands as a testament to the grandeur of the Mysore Kingdom. Constructed mostly out of teak wood, it exemplifies Indo-Islamic architecture with detailed floral patterns and pillars that hold the weight of the roof. The palace was the summer residence of the Mysorean ruler Tipu Sultan, also known as the Tiger of Mysore. Completed in the year 1791, the two-story structure has a rectangular plan with open corridors stretching along the sides of the building, centered around a pillared hall. The walls and ceilings were once elaborately painted, showcasing the artistry of that era. The first floor, which served as the durbar (royal court) of the Sultan, provides a panoramic view of the gardens on both sides of the palace. The ground floor houses a museum that exhibits artefacts related to the Sultan, including clothing and weaponry.
