The palace was the summer residence of the Mysorean ruler Tipu Sultan, also known as the Tiger of Mysore. Completed in the year 1791, the two-story structure has a rectangular plan with open corridors stretching along the sides of the building, centered around a pillared hall. The walls and ceilings were once elaborately painted, showcasing the artistry of that era. The first floor, which served as the durbar (royal court) of the Sultan, provides a panoramic view of the gardens on both sides of the palace. The ground floor houses a museum that exhibits artefacts related to the Sultan, including clothing and weaponry.
