Devi Kund Sagar, also known as the Cenotaphs, is situated approximately 8 kilometers to the east of Bikaner, in Rajasthan, India. It is a royal crematorium ground for the royal family of Bikaner with a number of cenotaphs (chhatris) dating back to the 16th century. The site showcases the architectural excellence of Rajputana style through its intricately carved marble and red sandstone chhatris. Each cenotaph commemorates a member of the royal Bikaji dynasty and is adorned with detailed carvings, inscriptions, and often, beautifully painted murals depicting the deceased’s life and times. The place embodies a quiet beauty and offers a peek into the region’s history and the traditions of the royal families of Rajasthan. The oldest among the cenotaphs is the chhatri of Rao Kalyan Mal, the second ruler of Bikaner. The most striking one is the chhatri of Maharaja Anup Singh, which displays Rajput splendor through its fine carvings.

Run of the mill cenotaph sanctuary.
The place is large with over 70 cenotaphs, some very recent. Having to take the shoes off is annoying as you may have to walk over a lot of dirt to see the oldest ones.
