Junagarh Fort is a historical fort in the city of Bikaner, Rajasthan, India. The fort was originally called Chintamani and was renamed Junagarh or Old Fort in the early 20th century when the ruling family moved to Lalgarh Palace outside the fort limits. It is one of the few major forts in Rajasthan which is not built on a hilltop. The fort was built by Raja Rai Singh in 1589 AD, who was the sixth ruler of Bikaner. The fort complex consists of numerous palaces, temples, and pavilions, each adorned with beautiful interior decorations, including intricately detailed wall paintings, colored glass, stone carvings, and inlaid semi-precious stones. The architecture is a blend of Mughal, Rajput, and Gujarati styles. Some of the notable structures within the fort are Anup Mahal, Gaj Mandir, and Har Mandir where the royal family used to worship their gods and goddesses.
