Dhikala Zone is the largest and most varied zone in Jim Corbett National Park, offering an unparallel vista of the valley, with the Kanda ridge in the backdrop. This region, rich in wildlife, is famous for its sprawling grasslands, dense sal forests, and numerous water bodies. The Ramganga River flows through the area, hosting various aquatic species and attracting a plethora of birdlife, as well as large herds of elephants and chital. The watchtower near Dhikala offers panoramic views of the landscape, especially the vividly beautiful Dhikala chaur (grassland). This zone is most sought after for longer stays in the park, with the Dhikala forest lodge providing basic accommodation. Safaris are a popular way to explore, offering a chance to see Royal Bengal tigers, elephants, spotted deer, and many other species. Photography, bird watching, and absorbing the magnificence of nature are common activities here.
