Jhirna Zone is located in the southern periphery of the Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand, India. It is one of the six tourism zones in the park where visitors can indulge in wildlife safaris. The topography of Jhirna is mainly dry deciduous and secondary forest with large patches of grasslands known as 'Chaurs'. The zone provides an excellent opportunity for birdwatching and spotting a variety of wildlife species such as tigers, leopards, elephants, bears and deer. Unlike other zones of Jim Corbett National Park, Jhirna is open for tourists throughout the year, thus offering a perennial retreat for wildlife enthusiasts. The Jhirna Safari Zone was added to the park's tourist map in 1994 and it has grown in popularity since. The entry to this zone is through Dhela Gate, which is at a distance of approximately 16 km from Ramnagar, the nearest town. The forest rest house at Jhirna offers basic accommodation facilities to visitors who wish to stay overnight.
